One of my childhood friends have been donating soccer balls and pumps since 2010. We've taken them to Uganda and Kenya to exchange their old soccer balls (made of a rock, paper, plastic and rubber bands) for a brand new soccer ball. We've also been able to put on sports programs in the different villages which included handing out volleyballs and nets, footballs, baseballs, shoes, clothing, toothbrushes and the list goes on!
Just over 1000 pairs of brand new shoes were donated to be brought over to Uganda and Kenya last year. This is a picture of a little girl receiving a pair of new shoes for the first time at age 4.
Through multiple trips to Gulu, Uganda, I've had the opportunity to build relationships with the locals. Here is a picture of little Kim (named after me!) who is growing leaps and bounds. Doesn't he make you melt?!
